This loco has a very loud noise caused by the blowers used to cool the dynamic brake resistors. Mumbai division has about 50 WCG-2s. In all in India there are 57. Built in 1996 by CLW, to RDSO’s specifications. AC auxiliaries, underslung compressor, Siemens static converter, Elgi compressor. One was seriously damaged in a fire, but was restored by the Kalyan loco shed.
